The Leidos NISC III program is looking for a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Software Engineer to join our team in Silver Spring, MD to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing GIS solutions using Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) Enterprise Application Development environment and or utilizing open source GIS tools and solutions.

Primary Duties:
  • Work independently and as part of a team to design and develop GIS software solutions
  • Complete assigned development tasks, bugs, improvements, and features
  • Help determine requirements for new products and new release versions
  • Provide technical assistance to customer support personal
  • Work with developers, testers, software installers, and product technical writers to produce high-quality professional products
    Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Geography, GIS, Computer Science or a related field and 8+ years' experience, or Master's Degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science or a related field and 6+ years' experience
  • Knowledge Skills, ability and proficiency with relevant ArcGIS and Oracle Products, data structures, architectures development Tools and Environments and Relational database Management Systems
  • Object Oriented development experience in C#, Java, or C++
  • Experienced in configuring and managing ArcServer
  • Ability to isolate/solve any number of problems from code bugs to database connectivity to application server or operating system failures


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the following: C# using Visual Studio, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), .NET 4.5+
  • Knowledge of GIS products and processes• GIS development experience. Ideally with ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap using ArcObjects, or other ESRI products
  • Experience configuring and managing an Oracle database
  • Experience with software development tools such as: Jira, Confluence, SourceTree
  • Experience working with Bentley Map
  • Agile Methodologies
  • ESRI Technical Certifications - Developer/Enterprise
