The Leidos Intelligence Group/Mission Solutions Operation/Mission Support Division has a part-time opening for an Arabic language instructor to conduct group language instruction for non-native Arabic speakers. The successful candidate will possess a Native level of Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and possess extensive experience teaching adult non-native Arabic speakers, in groups and one-on-one instruction. The successful candidate must demonstrate a solid knowledge in theories, methods, and techniques in foreign language teaching, testing and curriculum development. All training will take place at a Leidos facility located in Reston, Virginia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and adapting customized lesson plans focused on improving linguists' Arabic language skills, including grammar, vocabulary and writing. The candidate should be able to employ a variety of instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet different aptitudes of students . The successful candidate will work with the program manager to achieve key project/program objectives and deliverables. An analysis of the program's effectiveness and student performance will be conducted every 6-months.
- Must possess a Native - level of Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) with an ILR proficiency level of native proficiency in speaking, listening, reading and writing
- Requires expert knowledge and more than five year experience teaching groups and providing one-on-one adult non-native, (MSA, Iraqi dialect, Gulf dialect, Levantine, and cultures) instruction from basic through advanced level with a focus on speaking, listening, reading, and grammar comprehension
- More than five years of experience administering proficiency-based assessments, DLPT, ACTFL, or OPI
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree is preferred.
