Job Description:

The Defense group at Leidos, Inc. is currently looking for a Business Systems Analyst to support the GSM-O Program, a large, global program with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) at Ft. Meade, VA. **Telecommute is OK, but one will need to be able to go to the Columbia, MD site as needed. Live within driving distance to Ft. Meade.**

JOB SUMMARY

This global operation employs engineers and technicians across multiple partner companies in the world-wide operation and sustainment of a large network. The Business Systems Analyst will be overall responsible for the documentation and tracking of requirements, business process, and data flows and will support in the development of design and test specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in software development lifecycle, requirements management, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to work with a large, remote team of engineers and IT specialists.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

This key role is responsible for the coordination, documentation, and tracking of requirements as they relate to a key GSM-O project. The Business System Analyst is responsible for ensure there is end-to-end traceability of requirements and support in the development of design specifications/documentation, and testing specifications based on those identified requirements. The Business Systems Analyst must be able to collaborate with key government managers and stakeholders to ensure a requirements baseline is clearly documented and tracked throughout the lifecycle of the project and task will include the following:

  • Requirements specifications gathering and documentation
    • Documentation of business process and data flows
    • Interfacing with business stakeholders regarding requirements for, and understanding of, existing and new system functionality
    • Documenting as-is > to-be business process and data flows
    • Creation of functional requirements specifications
    • Generation of technical system requirements to feed the design team
  • Design/solutioning and specification documentation
    • Interpretation of stakeholder requirements to build design specs
    • Interpretation of existing (Legacy and greenfield) technical system requirements to facilitate end-to-end integrated solution functionality
    • Drafting, reviewing, and approving of interface control documentation, design specifications, and solution architecture specifications
  • Test specification and execution
    • Interpretation of design specification to transform into test cases and scenarios
    • Transformation of test scripts and generation of test data to support integrated test activities
    • Feeding back test results and findings into design team for resolution of design gaps/updating design specs, and ensuring defect fixes are spec'd correctly


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent based on evaluation of academic credentials, training and/or experience) as well as 2-4 years of related business analysis/requirements gathering
  • At least 2 years of experience performing as an analyst and/or tester
  • Experience with Agile software development frameworks, i.e. Scrum
  • Experience in drafting detailed requirements
  • Experience using JIRA
  • Ability to create mockups, Visio diagrams/charts, functional & design documents, Test Scripts
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all business analysis practices with emphasis on business requirements gathering, facilitation, testing and work flow analysis
  • Must demonstrate a sense of urgency, and the ability to work independently and proactively in achieving team and individual objectives
  • Must be comfortable in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to quickly grasp and understand technical concepts and systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in federal contracting
  • Experience working with DISA
  • PMI-BA certification
  • Certified Scrum Master or Certified Product Owner
