The Defense Group at Leidos has an immediate career opportunity for a Mid-Level IT Configuration Manager at Fort Eustis, Virginia.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to support the Army Training Information System (ATIS) Deployed Digital Training Campus (DDTC) program for the United States Army.
DDTC is a portable, Warrior Information Training System, which can be setup at any deployed Soldier location around the world.
The training campus is a completely self-contained system with 20 laptops, Internet and satellite accessibility.
The system can also provide video tele-training and it is designed for Soldiers to conduct structured self -development courses, advanced leader course phase one common core, correspondence courses, and any other program in the Army e-Learning catalog and the Army Learning Management System (ALMS).
IT Configuration Manager is responsible for product design changes and the effects of the overall system.
Duties may include ensuring configuration identification by reviewing design release documents for completeness and proper authorizations and preparing deviations and waivers for government approval when specifications cannot be met.
Responsibilities include maintaining an overall configuration and data management process.
Provide configuration status reporting and support contract deliverables.
Ensures program documents are reviewed and updated annually or as required by the contract.
Create and process Change Requests (CR) within the DDTC team.
Facilitate and coordinate the internal configuration control board meetings.
Maintain and update CM policies, procedures and standards.
Identify and maintain the configuration of program artifacts on Sharepoint.
Manage the Leidos Sharepoint Site.
Communicate directly with the Government Configuration Management Team on a routine basis.
Adhere to best practices and comply with government standards.
Works independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on the area / project team and deliverables.
Responsible for entire projects or processes within a technical area.
May assist other technical staff with tasks and assignments.
Typically responsible for coaching and reviewing work of lower level technical staff and leading larger, moderately complex projects/assignments.
Works to influence team members regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.
Develops technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution.
Additional duties may include supporting Tier2 Help Desk, Technical Writing, Test Engineering, and other duties, as necessary.
Candidate will interact with military, other contractors, and U.S. Government personnel; therefore, requires excellent oral and written communication skills.
Travel may be required to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or additional relevant experience in lieu of BS degree,
or Masters with 2 - 6 of prior relevant experience.
Must have an active Secret Clearance.
Must be US Citizen.
Configuration and Data Management (CDM) certification - National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) preferred (must obtain with six months of onboarding).
Experience with Configuration Management Tools.
Familiar with SharePoint..
Familiar with Systems and Test Engineering Processes.
Experience with Help Desk Processes and Remedy System.
Knowledge of Army Training and technical writing standards.
