Job Description:

Leidos is seeking a Cleared Software Tester who will be part of a test team with opportunities to test different products using both manual and automated testing.

The candidate will provide testing support for all software applications tiers including front-end functional testing, middle-tier testing of web services and other APIs, and testing back end data processes. In addition, the candidate is expected to perform regression and integration/acceptance testing in an agile development environment. Candidate may also participate in requirements reviews to provide feedback on requirements and to ensure that functional requirements are testable and adequately documented to drive the test process.
The candidate should be able to write test plans and think of testing strategy for each release.

Key areas of responsibilities:
  • Designing test strategies, test plans, and test cases from requirements, design documents and specifications for testing across different platforms (mobile, IoT, cloud) and with an emphasis on automation
  • Promotes and trains on continuous testing/ agile test strategies, test automation and DevOps
  • Identifying regression test candidates for automation and automating those test cases
  • Plan and lead automation effort to keep automated tests up to date and help the team to implement continuous Integration
  • Integrate test automation activities with other sprint activities
  • Define, develop and implement software/systems testing standards and procedures and oversee testing across SDLC
  • Estimating test case writing and execution effort and keeping track of own progress
  • Test case authoring and holding test case reviews with stakeholders
  • Execution of test cases including functional, smoke, regression, performance, load and integration tests
  • Reporting, tracking, validating and closing defects
  • Recording test results and reporting them
  • Executing and reporting security tests.
  • Plan and lead automation effort to keep automated tests up to date and help the team to implement continuous Integration
  • Participation in daily scrum meetings and weekly test team meetings
  • Install, maintain, or use software testing programs
  • Supporting our metrics program by keeping track and gathering metrics on all testing activities
  • Participate in all phases of risk management assessments and software/hardware development with emphasis on analysis of user requirements, test design and test tools selection

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or related field)
  • At least 12 years of experience performing as a software tester, 4 years of additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle and Agile-Scrum development methodology
  • Experience with test automation using Selenium and Python
  • Experience with API and endpoint testing
  • Experience with Continuous Integration pipeline
  • Experience in drafting test plans and test cases
  • Experience in using test management tools
  • Experience with SQL server and experience with writing and executing backend tests using SQL.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with mentoring and training team members
  • US Citizenship
  • An Active TS/SCI DoD security clearance, ability to pass CI Poly

Preferences:
  • ISTQB Certified Tester
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience with 508 compliance testing
  • Experience using Windows operating systems such as Windows 7 and 10
  • Experience using VMware
  • CI poly within last 5 years preferred
