Job Description:

Provides logistics and operations planning, coordination, and execution support for the Joint Staff sponsored Coalition Capability Demonstration and Assessment series commonly known as "Bold Quest." Functions as part of a small team in an often demanding and time-compressed environment.

Supports the annual Bold Quest life cycle:
  • Exercise/demonstration planning
    • Validates requirements with US Service and coalition nation participants
    • Conducts initial and detailed planning for billeting, transportation, fuel and food as necessary
    • Develops logistics concepts of support, logistics annexes for Operations Plans and Operations Orders
    • Participates in facilities planning and facilities requirements development
  • Exercise/demonstration execution
    • Facilitates reception, staging, onward movement and integration of passengers and cargo
    • Ensures logistics support throughout the deployment and sustainment phases of BQ to ensure efficient execution and achievement of objectives at dispersed demonstration venues
  • Exercise/demonstration post execution
    • Participates in After-action Reviews
    • Supports redeployment and facility close-out with host installations
    • Contributes to report writing efforts
  • Interfaces with senior Government agencies, logistics and administrative personnel, as well as other contractor/ subcontractor personnel'


Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5 years military background, Minimum, Bachelor's Degree; desired, Master's Degree
  • Knowledge of staff planning, execution and logistically supporting military operations
  • High degree of originality, resourcefulness and diplomacy, as required to deal effectively with the range of responsibilities and diverse organizations and individuals within the Joint Staff J-6's sphere of responsibilities
  • Highly developed ability to develop briefing materials
  • Strong communication and writing skills


Desired Qualifications:
  • 12 years military background
  • High-level staff experience
  • Leadership experience with ground maneuver forces
  • Highly skilled in using MS Office products
