Senior Research Scientist

Job Description:

Provide research and development support services for NMRC VRDD. The VRDD has a need to facilitate innovative research to advance the protection and treatment of the warfighter from infectious diseases – in particular, advances are sought in biotechnology that develop current and radically new capabilities that not only improve warfighter performance and unit combat effectiveness, but also could provide a benefit to the general public.). 

Primary Responsibilities

Provide support for Vaccine Research and Development for pathogens of military significance.

Provide support for Therapeutic Research and Development for pathogens of military significance.

Provide support for Clinical Diagnostic Research and Development for pathogens of military significance.

Provide support for Research for Assay Development for the detection of pathogens of military significance.

Provide support for Human Clinical Trial Research for vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostic assays for pathogens of military significance.

Provide support for Epidemiology and Biosurveillance Research.

Support VRDD collaborations with research organizations, operational commanders and other interested parties in response to new and emerging infectious diseases.

Basic Qualifications

PhD and/or MD with 10+ yrs. post-graduate experience.
