Job Description:

Leidos is seeking a GIS Specialist at Eglin AFB, Florida.

Seeking a pro-active and innovative professional that is proficient in ESRI ArcMap GIS, Air Force GeoBase, to support the Cultural Resources Program at Eglin AFB, Hurlburt Field and Tyndall AFB in data management and GIS tasks. Previous experience with Air Force/DOD, is required.

Daily duties may include efforts to:

Compile, report, and track; cultural resources performance measures, statistics on heritage assets, metrics, data calls, taskers, and reports at supported installation and shall verify all data collected and reported. Maintain and continuously update the comprehensive database for all cultural resources, historic properties, and associated records of supported installations. maintaining and updating a comprehensive database which includes; 1) accurately capturing and controlling data from multiple source documents into a cultural resources database, ensuring that updates are conducted within 60 days of arrival of new data; 2) Maintain spatial data that is compliant with Air Force GIS and SDSFIE requirements on a daily basis; 3) Maintain user-friendly interfaces to the cultural resources data sets for installations and Eglin ISS [maintenance of graphical user interface that automatically populates data for Installation and ISS use; 4) Maintain repository which is an electronic document and image library. The contractor will maintain an interface for easy access to the files for the MPM. Hard copy files will also be maintained in accordance with applicable standards. Maintain updated spreadsheets for supported installations with historic facility data, historic status codes, facility condition data, last physical inspection date, reuse plans, demolition plans, etc., and shall coordinate with the installation real property office to ensure real property data is accurate and matches data in the Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan.

The successful candidate shall conduct preliminary spatial analysis and provide maps to the CR PM for use in determining potential impacts on Cultural Resources resulting from proposed projects and missions and produce quality electronic and hard copy maps for the CR PM to use in consultation, presentation, and cultural resources management projects. Construction of feature class and other data for use by other contractors to insure compliance with DoD and cultural resources management data standards will also be required.

This position works onsite at Eglin AFB and requires robust coordination and communication with the government Base Historic Preservation Officer, cultural resource managers and contractors.

Work Schedule: 40 hours/week, Workday 8 AM - 5 PM.

Travel Requirements: Local travel only, 10 percent or less

Required skills:

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience; 4+ years of experience with GIS systems ArcGIS and GeoBase, Cultural Resources and related data.

Ability to work in a multi-discipline team with government employees and contractors and conduct duties with minimal daily direct oversight.

Experience with Air Force/DOD, experience with Eglin Air Force Base database and Cultural Resource Information Management System (CRIMS).
