Job Description:

Leidos is hiring a Microsoft Power BI Developer for an exciting and growing team within our Commercial Energy group. We're looking for someone that is motivated by variety, is seeking a challenging environment for professional growth, and will create and manage BI and analytics solutions that turn data into knowledge located in New Orleans, LA, Little Rock, AR, West Monroe, LA, or The Woodlands, TX

In this role, you should have a background in data and business analysis. You should be analytical and an excellent communicator. If you also have a business acumen and problem-solving aptitude, we'd like to meet you! The qualified candidate will be responsible for the successful delivery and support of high visibility reportsdesktop, mobile, and dashboards reports. This position will involve working in a technical capacity to ensure data is properly loaded into the data warehouse or reporting repository. This role will also work closely with Business Analysts and end users to evaluate business requirements and advise on appropriate informative views and dashboards.

Other responsibilities Include:
  • Meet with customers to understand and document reporting requirements
  • Translate business reporting requirements into technical reporting specifications
  • Design, build and deploy Power BI solutions (e.g. reports and dashboards, visualizations)
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting of Power BI reporting solutions, including investigation of data issues, data validation and balancing
  • Develop reporting system documentation and training materials
  • Provide mentoring and training of Power BI functions to business customers
  • Present design proposals and demonstrate prototype solutions to business owners and executives

Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related
  • 2+ years' experience as a MS Power BI report developer (or minimum 1 year MS Power BI with prior experience with similar BI reporting tools, such as IBM Cognos or Business Objects)
  • Expert designer of information visualizations and dashboards
  • Hands-on working knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server SQL
  • Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
  • Ability to document business requirements and translate into technical reporting specifications
  • Ability to collaborate with other report developers, data warehouse developers and source system IT teams
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of agile and waterfall development methodologies

Desired Experience:
  • Experience with data warehouse database and ETL development is a strong plus
  • Experience with other BI and reporting tools, such as IBM Cognos, is a strong plus
  • Experience as Power BI installation and administrator, is a strong plus
