The Leidos Defense Group, within the Airborne Solutions Division has available opportunities to fill several Technical Service Engineer positions located in Bagram, Afghanistan. In this role, you're overall responsibilities are to consult, provide oversight, and integration support for existing hardware, software, network configurations and new system initiatives for all sites within your area of responsibility. You will work deployed OCONUS on a 60/60 rotation. Working conditions can range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject you to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, dust, etc. At times, you will work in deployed areas supporting Defense activities where high noise hazards, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, electrical shock, limited housing, and other hazards and hardships exist.
-Provide technical leadership ensuring adherence to governing regulations and Standard Operating Procedures.
-Responsible for identifying priorities and assign associated tasks involving launch and recovery activities, line maintenance, scheduled maintenance, training, mentoring, and other required tasks of the SS-AISR PME Activity
-Interface with Management on the development, implementation and execution of a PME Technician training program
-Duties may include providing remote and site support services as well as initiating, creating and executing procedural updates, changes, and development.
-Perform all logistical aspects of repair job orders documenting and producing all required data to successfully submit parts, tools, and consumables repair and purchase requests. Maintain accurate accountability of tools, equipment, parts, and consumables assigned to the activity.
-Perform all tasks as assigned by management, and implement and sustain operational processes supporting the OCONUS SS-AISR Program
-Perform duties as assigned and as required supporting any of the OCONUS SS-AISR Program Sites and initiatives as determine by management and program needs
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.
-Requires a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience, or additional years of experience in lieu of a degree or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
-Must have Final Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret
-Requires Expert Knowledge of and ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. For example: troubleshooting of radio frequency (RF) systems, Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) systems, interpreting wire diagrams, experience in configuring GUIs, troubleshooting and configuring computer and electronics components, troubleshooting and configuring IP networks, etc.
-Must have a current Security + CE or higher certification (may obtain within 3 months of being hired as a condition of employment, if this condition is not met employment will be terminated)
-Must have proficient computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as maintenance database and tracking software
-Must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, read and interpret electronics drawings and diagrams, and perform installations and repairs on PME and integrated avionics systems and components
-Must have an in-depth knowledge and ability to read and interpret basic schematic diagrams, drawings, and charts and equipment operation and maintenance manuals
-Must be able to work shifts as assigned and travel as required to support program wide operations
-This position is on a 60/60 rotation; you work 7 days a week, 12 hrs. per day for 60 days, and 60 days off.
-Must be a US Citizen
-Valid U.S. passport for at least 3 years
- Must have a valid and current civilian driver's license
-Ability to read, write, and speak English
- This position, although based in Bagram, Afghanistan, may require assignment and subsequent travel to other sites within the program. This travel may be temporary, or permanent, and assigned locations may change based on mission requirements, program needs and/or Program Manager's discretion.
-Must be able to meet CENTCOM CRC medical minimum standards for deployment, and training deployment minimum standards
-Top Secret or higher level
-Recent experience working OCONUS or in hardship environments
-Recent experience on MARSS/EMARRS or equivalent ISR Platforms.
-Recent experience on aviation programs or airborne ISR systems
-Recent experience on BLOS SATCOM Networks.
-Sound troubleshooting skills and signal flow techniques with experience using relevant test equipment.
-DoD 8570 IAT Level II Compliant (Have a current certification in one of the following: CCNA Security, CySA, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP) and Certified in one Operating System/Environment such as Windows, Linux, etc.
