Job Description:

Leidos has an opening for a Client Load Developer in Houston, Texas. The Client Load Developer will support the IMOC II contract, which is responsible for providing technical support to the U.S. manned space flight program at the Johnson Space Center. As part of IMOC, our laptop group is responsible for development and sustaining support of the Station Support Computer (SSC) system, which astronauts use on-board for operational, experimental, and daily support of their mission.

The successful candidate will join the IMOC SpOC/SSC software team, responsible for developing software and integrating external software applications into the ISS on-board SSC. This individual will work as the designated SSC Client Load Engineer to implement requirements for new development and change activities to the Windows 10 SSC Client and other ancillary Windows client loads. They will be responsible for providing the user interface to a myriad collection of COTS, modified COTS, and custom applications on the SSC system. The Client must be user-friendly and easy to administer remotely from the ground (Mission Control Center in Houston).

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain software tools and custom scripts to automate repetitive tasks and improve remote administration
  • Integrate COTS, modified-COTS and custom applications into the Client load
  • Manage patching and software distribution using Puppet
  • Support integration with Active Directory
  • Develop Windows desktop loads/images for remote deployment
  • Ensure compliance with all security and operational policies and procedures, including the U.S. Government Configuration Baseline for Windows.

Typical Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and a minimum of 4 years' related experience. Additional years of experience and/or relevant certifications may be considered in lieu of degree.

Desired Skills:
  • MCSE
  • Automated testing (for security and functionality) - unit to system level
