Job Description:

The Biobehavioral Division within the Military and Veterans Health Services Operation at Leidos has a need for a Research Administrator.

The individual selected for this position will perform a variety of duties to include science and administrative tasks in a research environment to support the Research Operations Department at the Naval Health Research Center, San Diego, CA. Support may also be provided in such functional areas as research and development, administration, finance, and purchasing. May prepare budgeting, project scheduling, and statistical reports as required.

Primary Responsibilities

The individual selected for this position will perform a variety of science support administrative duties (phones, travel, filing, scheduling, taking meeting minutes, drafting correspondence etc.) for the Research Operations Department, Department Head and Science Director at the Naval Health Research Center, San Diego, CA. Support may also be provided in such functional areas as finance, human resources, purchasing, research and development. May prepare budgeting, project scheduling, and statistical reports as required.

Basic Qualifications

a. BA or BS degree in Health or the sciences. Years of experience supporting administrative work in a science field can be substituted for a degree.

b. Experience working in a science or research lab environment.

c. Experience performing administrative duties.

d. Advanced skills using software tools, including Microsoft Suite, Adobe Pro and SharePoint, to

support program management efforts.

f. Experience with the military or working in a DoD environment preferred.

g. Strong skills to critically review, independently edit, format and synthesize various types of input

(verbal, notes, emails, drafts) into a cohesive document or correspondence in accordance with the

Navy Correspondence Manual, Official Navy Message Traffic, and other format policies,

including military technical documents such as point papers, policies, and messages.

h. Must currently have or be able to obtain Secret U.S. Government clearance.
