Job Description:


Leidos is seeking an IT Lead / MMIS Lead to support the MD-530 Program in Afghanistan. The IT Lead / MMIS Lead will work and travel in between customer sites as needed. Customer sites include Kandahar, Kabul and Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan. The IT Lead / MMIS Lead will be responsible for the analysis and design of business applications on complex, large-scale systems, including experience in data base management concepts. They will have knowledge of state-of-the-art storage and retrieval methods as well as the ability to formulate specifications for computer programmers to use in coding, testing, and debugging of computer software. The IT Lead / MMIS Lead will develop plans for Automated Data Processing (ADP) systems from project inception to conclusion. The candidate will also define the problem and develop system requirements and program specifications, which programmers use to prepare systems documentation programs and tests.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide support to software program management teams.
Participates in the maintenance, enhancement, and administration of relational databases.
Assignments may include design of data dictionaries, database structure and layout, installing, upgrading, and managing database applications.
Experience designing and developing reports using SQL Server Reporting Services.
Monitor systems, maintain and ensure availability for multiple development, test and production environments.
Experience working with Internet Information Services and basic server maintenance.
Supporting upgrading and patching of SQL Server database and related software.
Provide backup and recovery support and make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements to the enterprise databases.
Review daily database and system logs.
Participates in continuous improvement efforts in enhancing performance and providing increased functionality, including performing proactive maintenance such as ensuring continued space availability, monitoring activity, and documenting problems, changes, and solutions.
Stay current on vendors' best security practices in relation to organizational requirements.
Oversight of Local National IT team.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science (BA/BS)
Two (2) years direct relevant experience
MCSA SQL Server 2016 Database Development or similar certifications a plus.
Experience with SQL Server 2016 required
Due to location, must have the ability to work in a team environment
Candidate must have a NACI with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
Ability to multi-task.
Will require the use of excellent problem solving, analytical skills when communicating (written & verbal)

As the position location is in Afghanistan, the following requirements need to be met:
US citizen
Possess a valid state driver's license
Active passport with a minimum of 12 months before expiration prior to start date.
Visa with multiple entries for 12 months prior to start date
Completion of Customer required International Readiness Certifications prior to deployment.
Failure to complete any of these actions within 60 days of accept will result in rescinding of the offer. If the candidate is unable to pass the medical screening after the start date and prior to deployment an immediate administrative termination will be requested.

Strong professional interpersonal skills
Military deployment experience is highly desired and deployment experience to the CENTCOM region desired
