***THIS POSITION IS IN AFGHANISTAN AND OFFERS A 90/30 ROTATIONAL SCHEDULE***
Leidos is currently seeking a MD-530 A&P Mechanic to support the MD-530F fleet of aircraft in Afghanistan. The A&P Mechanic will work and travel in between customer sites as needed. Customer sites include Kandahar, Kabul and Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
Repair and replace aircraft components.
Use technical manuals, technical data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repair of malfunctioning or damaged components.
Four (4) years of direct experience in aircraft maintenance
Civilian or military technical school degree
Candidate must have an active NACI with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) License required
Must have experience working on MD-530 aircraft
Must be able to perform the full range of airframe and engine maintenance, repair, modifications, inspections and servicing of aircraft in accordance with approved methods, techniques and practices and certify accomplished work. This entails the ability to:
• troubleshoot engines and systems
• use the federal supply system
• read and understand technical manuals and schematics
• read and interpret all instruments
• use special test equipment and tools
• research the technical library
• perform full system checkouts on all aircraft systems
• perform mechanic test flight duties
• perform complete servicing of aircraft
As the position location is in Afghanistan, the following requirements need to be met:
Active passport with a minimum of 12 months before expiration prior to start date.
Visa with multiple entries for 12 months prior to start date
Completion of Customer required International Readiness Certifications prior to deployment.
Failure to complete any of these actions within 60 days of accept will result in rescinding of the offer. If the candidate is unable to pass the medical screening after the start date and prior to deployment an immediate administrative termination will be requested.
Strong avionics and electrical troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Familiarity with technical manuals/data, flight line procedures and practices, industrial safety and security
Prior OCONUS rotation experience
