Leidos is currently seeking a full-time Data Analyst I to support the Deployment Health Research Department at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, CA.

This position will support the Millennium Cohort research program in their mission to examine the effects of deployment and career experiences on the overall physical and mental health of service members and their families.   The Data Analyst I will support multiple research studies by performing analytical and statistical tasks using large databases containing military medical, personnel, and survey information.

Primary Responsibilities:

Independently perform data management, cleaning, and manipulation using SAS. Conduct statistical analyses using SAS, including techniques for longitudinal data analysis, such as multivariable logistic regression and survival analysis. Contribute to the writing of scientific research proposals, programmatic reports, scientific manuscripts, and grant proposals. Perform literature reviews on specific study topic areas to aid in the development of scientific proposals and manuscripts. Create tables, graphs and other output as directed to support research projects. Develops an understanding for the epidemiologic research process and progressively contributes to the analysis, writing, and interpretation of data for various research projects. Prepares and presents informal and formal briefings at various military conferences and meetings.

Basic Qualifications:

-    Master's in Public Health (MPH) I Science (MS) in biostatistics, or related field is preferred plus 0-2 years of experience OR Bachelor's degree in a public health or biostatistics plus 2-4 years related experience.

-    Demonstrated experience using SAS

-    Knowledge of statistical techniques, including analysis of variance, logistic regression, and analysis of longitudinal data, including survival analysis

-    Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to deliver scientific oral presentations

Preferred Qualifications:

-    Experience in epidemiologic research and military health research is preferred.
