Job Requisition:ICAMMS Engineer (FEMA expertise)
The Leidos Civil Group is seeking an Aerospace Engineer to provide support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Systems Operations Security Group in the use of the National Airspace System (NAS) airspace. Support will assist the FAA in coordinating activities with the FAA Airspace Access Recovery Cell (AARC) in association with the Integrated Contingency Air Mission Management System (ICAMMS), to assist in the coordination and facilitation of flights related to a crisis response disaster area and/or flight restricted airspace.
Support the FAA Systems Operations Security Group with the coordination of special flights surrounding Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs).
Provide Subject Matter Expertise in the vetting, approval and facilitation of the special handling of these flights with stakeholders.
Assist in the balancing of emergency flight requests with the amount of airspace operations and capacity.
Have previous experience with AARC, ICAMMS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and its National Incident Management System (NIMS) and National Response Framework (NRF).
Have a thorough knowledge of aviation and the use of FAA Airspace procedures.
Typically requires a BA degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience.
Pilot’s License preferred.
Knowledge of the FAA Air Traffic System and Airspace usage (particularly TFRs) preferred.
Experience with previous disaster relief efforts preferred.
Excellent communication skills preferred to coordinate activities with other stakeholders and to articulate requirements.
FEMA background preferred.
