Job Description:

Leidos has a career opening for a Senior Vice President (SVP), Corporate Strategy and Special Projects located in Reston, VA.

Position Summary:
The senior vice president for corporate strategy and special projects (SVP of Strategy) is an executive management position responsible for crafting the company's long term business strategy and alignment of resources to accomplish such.  Additionally, the SVP of Strategy will be responsible for corporate wide initiatives that drive the long term competitiveness of the business including inorganic growth, strategic partnerships, and market disruptions strategies/counter-strategies. 

The SVP of Strategy shall provide thought leadership, fact-based analysis and insights, and leading-edge thinking.  The leader shall utilize business modern tools and analysis to support and drive enterprise strategy and related growth initiatives.

Position Description:
•Leads annual strategic planning review, adjusting the strategy as necessary, and supports the development of the corporation’s long-range plan and annual budget
•Partners with the Corporate Development office on M&A pipeline development based on strategic needs and new growth opportunities
•Defines and manages multiple and complex strategic growth projects via industry analytics, customer and competitor market dynamics, and corporate objectives
•Manages relationships with key leaders, up to and including the CEO and other corporate officers and stakeholders throughout organization
•Effectively navigates process to lead, influence, and reach consensus with or without formal authority or people management responsibilities
•Reports to the Executive Vice President of Business Development & Strategy (BD&S)
•Acts as a thought partner to, and participates as a core member of, the Business Development & Strategy (BD&S) leadership team

Required Skills and Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree  15+ years of experience in the federal government services/aerospace business, equivalent time with a management consulting firm, or a combination thereof
•Collaborative skills with a record of accomplishment in building and maintaining strong relationships and incorporating diverse perspectives
•Proven team player approach with extensive experience managing, mentoring, and leading teams
•Self-motivated, assertive, and self-confident disposition with the ability to act with urgency and an ability to anticipate and respond quickly to business requirements
•High degree of emotional intelligence, displaying candor and integrity at all times
•Strong business acumen, strategic thinking ability, and degree of judgment
•Exceptionally strong oral and written communication skills for effectively interfacing with key internal customers and influence makers across the organization
•Strong organizational skills in order to maintain a high level of productivity, innovation, and priority-setting
•Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and concurrently and think through complexity and ambiguity; make thoughtful, integrated, timely and meaningful decisions; and take corresponding actions
•Entrepreneurial spirit, resourcefulness, creativity, enthusiasm, results-oriented mindset, and enjoyment working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
•Ability to connect (and present) complex ideas and identify strategic actions that need to be taken to expand the business
•Ability to understand highly differentiated technologies

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

Demonstrated skills in capture management and/or managing a business development portfolio.

•Master’s degree
