Job Requisition:Electronics Technologist II
Responsible for supporting engineering activities. Duties may include troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining equipment, components, devices, or systems. Also may conduct testing in a development mode and determine methods or actions to correct malfunctions or design problems. Recommend modifications to engineering designs as necessary.
Works to achieve day to day objectives consisting of tasks that are typically routine, with some deviation from standard practice. Works under moderate supervision for routine tasks. Resolves routine problems and issues, without clearly prescribed solutions. Checks and makes minor adjustments to work methods to solve problems. Communicates with colleagues within own project/ work area to obtain or provide information requiring some explanation or interpretation.
Education: High School diploma or GED. Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program. Four (4) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout. One (1) year practical experience in electronics installation.
Clearance: Public Trust
Three (3) years’ experience performing removal, integration, fielding, maintenance, testing, and calibration of Automated Fuel Handling Equipment (AFHE), Airfield Refueling Electrical Supervisions and Control Systems (ARES), or Automated Tank Gauging (ATG) automation instrumentation and sensors. Specifically, must have demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following “Series ATG Systems”: Veeder Root TLS (TLS), Ronan (X76CTM), ENRAF 854 Servo, ENRAF 818 STIC, Hectronic Optilevel HLS 3010HF, L&J Technologies 8100, Barton 3500, GSI-MTG, MTS Level Plus M, Pneumercator TMS3000. Expertise in corrective maintenance on the following communications devices of the ATG systems: Remote Interface Units; Programmable Logic Computers (PLC) such as the Modicon U120, Allen Bradley, and GE Fanuc; Phone switches; Radio Modems; External Modems; Radio equipment.
