Job Description:

The Defense division within Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer to support the Integration & Logistics Center in Chesapeake, VA. The successful candidate will support software programming, networking design support, and general technical expertise in the execution of the USCG machinery control test site.

Primary Responsibilities:

The candidate is responsible for performing software development and refresh functions, including the design, development, troubleshooting, and debugging of software programs for software enhancements and new software-intensive systems and products. Duties include software requirements analysis, development of software products and software tools used for design, development and maintenance of test site and shipboard infrastructure.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge in one or more of the following > Python, C, C++, C#, Machine Language, Assembly language, Visual Basic, SQL, UNIX, Solaris (Sun Microsystems), or JavaScript
  • Ability to maintain SQL databases
  • Requires BS and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience (additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree)
  • Ability to obtain Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience developing HMI (WonderWare)
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Deep understanding of and ability to apply principles, theories, and programming concepts in execution of USCG Polar Machinery Plant Control & Monitoring System (MPCMS) Land based Test Facility (LBTF)
