Job Requisition:Epidemiologist II
Leidos’s is currently seeking a full-time Epidemiologist II to support the Deployment Health Research Department at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, CA.
This position will support the Deployment Health Research Department in their mission to examine the effects of deployment and career experiences on the overall physical and mental health of service members and their families. Currently, the department has several major research studies in progress, including the Millennium Cohort Study, the Millennium Cohort Family Study, the Birth and Infant Health Research Program, and the Recruit Assessment Program. This position will work closely with Principal Investigators, epidemiologists, analysts and study coordinators to support ongoing research efforts.
Conduct comprehensive literature reviews
Take a lead role in developing and submitting research proposals
Refine research methodology and construct project-specific databases to appropriately answer study questions
Use ICD-9/ICD-10 and Current Procedural Terminology codes to identify medical exposures and outcomes of interest
Use SAS to clean and analyze data and interpret results
Develop presentations, manuscripts, and reports describing study findings.
Mentor and supervise data analysts and other epidemiologists
Develop strategic research plans for research program.
PhD in public health, epidemiology, or related field
Minimum of six years experience successfully proposing, conducting and publishing relevant research
Minimum of four first-authored articles in peer-reviewed journals
Advanced knowledge of SAS
Due to federal contract restrictions, candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
