Job Requisition:Solution Architect
Leidos has an opening for a Solution Architect located at Scott AFB or Ft. Meade, MD.
The Solution Architect (SA) will support the DISA customer as part of the Global Systems Management Operations (GSM-O) program and report to the Program Chief Architect. This candidate will work closely with the Chief Architect, engineering leads, and customer stakeholders to drive current and future program results that drive efficiency within the program and improve service delivery to the customer. The solution architect will engage with all technical teams on the program, determine priorities, scope additional work, collect and report status, review/approve changes, and ensure tasks are completed on time within the environment and travel to other GSM-O sites when necessary.
•Lead and be accountable for creating and implementing technical solutions for the GSM-O program.
•Technical supervision and direction of the development, production and operations of the GSM-O program that is maintained and managed on a 24x7x365 operations, administration and maintenance of mission critical DoD communications networks.
•Determine the technical goals of the program and works with program stakeholders to refine those goals into executable objectives.
•Devise plans for each phase of the program objectives.
•Recruits engineering staff and builds the technical workforce to meet GSM-O program objectives.
•Perform quality control checks, ensuring the effectiveness and reliability of the network systems, tools, and products.
•Evaluate the engineering costs to identify efficiencies and improved ways of delivering service to the customer.
•Negotiate with stakeholders (Vendors, Customer, etc.) to generate ideas and clarify specifications.
•Build strong professional working relationships with stakeholders to resolves disputes, define technical solutions, and drive positive change within the program.
•The ideal candidate may have multiple people reporting to them but will be required to work with external stakeholders to achieve program objectives. This would include the issues, risks, dependencies, and making sure action plans are documented and executed accordingly.
•Work with the customer and external stakeholders (industry leaders, vendors, military, etc.) to accomplish program goals in which we are dependent on them completing tasks.
•Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyzes for total systems across the DISN and GSM-O.
•Assist in the planning and performing of analytical research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering and customer specifications.
•Some travel (< 25%) may be required.
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 20+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 16+ years or prior relevant experience.
•Previous experience as a Chief Engineer or equivalent for network solutions with broad expertise guiding project and operations across multiple related IT disciplines throughout the project lifecycle
•Recent DoD IT engineering leadership experience
•OSS and BSS engineering and operations experience
•Excellent written and oral communication capability.
•Negotiate and influence others to understand and accept new concepts, practices and approaches.
•Experience estimating all technical and operations costs within the network.
•Experience identifying and assessing business impacts to proposed changes to a largely technical solution or enterprise operations.
•WAN Network engineering or Operations experience
•Defensive Cyber Practices and Solutions experience
•Experience leading all phases of a solution’s lifecycle
•No initial clearance required, but must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
•Possesses DoD Secretsecurity clearance.
•Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
•Possess DoD 8570 certification at IAT level II, CISSP, Security+ CE.
•Certifications such as but not limited to, Cisco Certifications (CCIE, CCNP, etc.), Juniper Certifications, Microsoft certifications (MCSE, etc.), security.
•Experience managing large teams of engineers to implement, manage and monitor integrated systems.
