Job Requisition:Aeronautical Information Analyst
The Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS)/Airspace Team on the NISC III contract is an Aeronautical Information team supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). We are seeking a highly motivated individual to assist the Leidos UAS/Airspace team as well as the FAA in creating Aeronautical Charts. The charts are to support the National Airspace System (NAS). The UAS/Airspace Team creates and maintains electronic charts and related airspace products.
Learning Aeronautical Information
Analyzing the National Flight Data Digest (NFDD)
Analyzing and charting of Airspace on FAA VFR, IFR and UAS related charts
Utilizing various software to produce charts
Analyze Aerial Photography
Interact with FAA Airspace team members and FAA Management
·Evaluating legal descriptions of amended Airspace dockets published in the Federal register.
·Analyzing the recreation of airspace amendments relevant to airspace review due to the decommissioning of the omnidirectional range (VOR) navigation aid as part of the VOR Minimum Operational Network (MON) program and the cancellation of the associated instrument flight procedures.
Publishing and maintaining the Aeronautical Information Systems (AIS) database applications of Special Use Airspace (SUA), Class Airspace supported by Aeronautical Information Services.
·Processing SUA Memos received from the Airspace Policy and Regulations Group and publishing in NASR.
·Reviewing and updating the Aeronautical Navigation Database System (ANDS) for the effective cycle end dates.
Bachelors of Science Degree in Geography, Aerospace, or related discipline from an accredited College or University and at least four years of relevant experience.
Knowledge in Bentley Microstation
E.S.R.I Geographic Information System
Knowledge in Database creation and maintenance
