The Systems Engineer will support the ITEMS UFS PMO and be responsible for process improvement activities across the program.  The successful candidate will be able to collaborate with leaders and individual contributors across the various program organizations to document, measure and improve program processes to include Operations, PMO, Engineering, and others.    The successful candidate will be flexible with assignments, ensure all action items are closed timely and accurately, and be willing to learn every day. 
Primary Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

o    Establish relationships with PMO, Operations, Quality, Engineering and other program organizations to facilitate the measurement and improvement of the delivery of information technology services
o    Determine and document as-is processes
o    Make recommendations for areas for improvement and priority
o    Plan, execute, and close process improvement activities that meet or exceed program objectives
o    Utilize Leidos best practices and subject matter experts for reach back to add value to program activities
o    Ad hoc duties as needed by the Program Management Office.  These will be defined by the manager when they arise.


o    Experience with IT Projects
o    Active Top Secret SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
o    Experience with leading process documentation and improvement activities
o    Experience collecting and analyzing metrics
o    Ability to multi-task, complete tasks without direct supervision, and function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
o    Excellent verbal and written skills
o    Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, & Project) 


o    Understanding of ITIL principles (ITIL Foundation training or equivalent)
o    Familiarity with JIRA or similar tools


  • Requires BS degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience.
