Big Data Architect / Administrator

Job Description:

The Government Health and Safety Solutions Operation is seeking a Big Data Architect / Administrator in Baltimore, MD.

Position Description:

Design and implement Big Data analytic solutions on a Hadoop based platform. Refine a data processing pipeline focused on unstructured and semi-structured data refinement. Support quick turn and rapid implementations and larger scale and longer duration analytic capability implementations.

Responsible for defining/creating Enterprise Technology Roadmaps and communicating architecture vision/roadmap to SSA customer and Leidos stakeholders.

Responsible for designing, developing, and analyzing software-based products and systems.

Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and process to ensure successful delivery of highest quality products and cutting edge solutions that are scalable.

Shape the program execution approach to align with the SSA long-term technical roadmap

Provide technical guidance and leadership to program team members while encourage innovated solutions to complex system problems.

Collaborate with government stakeholders and internal team to ensure solutions meet customer requirements and expectations.

Establish customized processes that align to program goals and objectives, also actively promote and engage in process improvement initiatives.

Skills Requirements:

Requires BS degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience.
 

Required
- Experience in MapReduce programming with Hortonworks Hadoop and Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) and with processing large data stores
- Ability to show flexibility, initiative, and innovation when dealing with ambiguous and fast paced situations
- Experience with Hortonworks Hadoop, Amazon EMR, Amazon S3, Spark,
- Red Hat IDM

- Experience with R

- Experience with deploying applications in a Cloud environment using Ansible
- Eclipse and/or IntelliJ IDE
- Java Enterprise Edition
