Adversary Cyber Threats Analyst

Job Description:

Assist USAF and other government agencies in the creation and development of combat capability documents, presentations, formal messages, background papers, items of interest, and staff summary packages for USAFCENT Senior Management review. The Analyst shall coordinate and schedule video teleconferences with military and associated partnering units upon request. The Analyst shall provide training to junior intelligence analysts through informal and formal training sessions within each perspective function performed within the PWS. The Analyst shall provide air intelligence support to USCENTCOM forces and support USAFCENT’s interface with national agencies, USCENTCOM, and component elements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide expert analytic support through the drafting and critical review of adversary Cyber related products for general officer review, ensuring an emphasis on potential implications to USAFCENT plans and/or operations, or USAF and ally aircrew training. These products may include, but are not limited to PowerPoint presentations, formal messages, background papers, and items of interest, collection requirements, production requirements, Request for Information (RFI) answers, and staff summary packages for general officers, CAOC/USAFCENT staff and supported unit reviews.
  • Provide critical oversight of training on predictive and forensic analysis of adversary Cyber Threats.
  • Provide expert analytic support to USAFCENT planning, drafting and reviewing prioritized intelligence and production requirements, intelligence estimates, and annexes and appendices for general officer review.
  • Serve as the adversary Cyber Threat authority on USAFCENT’s Red Team, during war-gaming and exercises, which support USAFCENT’s adaptive planning processes.
  • As directed, leverage all formal and informal analytic exchanges, as well as training opportunities, in order to foster peer-to-peer collaboration, ensure thorough vetting of products, and deliberately pursue/maintain acuity on essential elements of tradecraft. Regular coordination/collaboration with the following entities is critical to mission success:
  • The National Command Authority
  • National, International, and Service Intelligence Centers
  • Combatant, Commands, Air Components, and Wing Intelligence
  • Maintain specialized intelligence and operations community accesses pertinent to their functional area, in order to enhance situational awareness and planning support. One, some, or all of the following may be required, and this list should not be considered definitive: Alternate Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM), Joint Special Technical Operations (JSTO), Limited Distribution Signals Intelligence reporting, and Limited Distribution Human Intelligence reporting.
  • Maintain specialized intelligence and operations community accesses pertinent to their functional area, in order to enhance situational awareness and planning support. One, some, or all of the following may be required, and this list should not be considered definitive: Alternate Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM), Joint Special Technical Operations (JSTO), Limited Distribution Signals Intelligence reporting, and Limited Distribution Human Intelligence reporting.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and six (6) years’ or more of comparable USAF experience. Applicable experience can substitute for a degree.
  • Formal Intelligence Analysis training.
  • Two (2) years’ experience as an IA, cybersecurity specialist, or related.
  • Working knowledge of cyber threat intelligence, actors, malware, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), malware, various security methodologies and processes OR working knowledge of intelligence analysis and tradecraft.

  • USCENTCOM AOR experience
  • Advanced Analytic Training
  • Unit Level experience working with aircrew
