Job Requisition:Electronics Technician-Aviation C2 ATCALS
The designee will be qualified to perform complex diagnosis repairs and modifications to aviation ground electronics systems and various other equipment. The designee performs required periodic maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and test equipment as required. The technician will setup, maintain, and store airfield systems or deep-field camp systems that support aviation operations and weather observing. This position is customer oriented, and the government reserves the right to decrease hours for the particular individual if the Electronics Technician II is not being effective.Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment. Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. Maintains effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.
The designee shall maintain systems are such as MARK IVB, NEXION, Terminal Advisory System (TAS), UPX-37, CM-200, CM-300, GRC-171 & 211, GRR-23/24, PCAS, GRT-21/22, ETVS, Liberty Star, PL-2000DT, PRC-117, RT-1319, TRC-176, URC-200, ATIS, DVRS, TTRS, but not be limited to those listed in Table 6.1. Suites of Systems and Support Equipment.
Education: High School diploma or GED. Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics for navigations aids, meteorology systems, or communications systems or four (4) year electronics apprentice program with experience with the listed system types. Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
Experience: Minimum IAT Level II Certification; IP fundamentals; familiarity with deployable communications systems. Four (4) years of practical experience with the aviation command and control systems/equipment. Note: Experience may be concurrent.
