Job Requisition:Software Engineer Intern
Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer Intern who will be a member of a dynamic team working on the Time Based Flow Management (TBFM) technology. The purpose of TBFM is to maximize use of available National Airspace System (NAS) resources, while minimizing delays and disruptions to aircraft operators and their customers, as well as reducing fuel burn and engine emissions thereby decreasing user operational costs.
The new team member will join a team of experienced software engineers currently supporting the sustainment and enhancement of the TBFM system. Successful candidates will have experience with and/or knowledge of object oriented programming (Java, C, C++) in a client-server environment and working with Linux.
Experience with the Atlassian configuration management tools set is desirable. A successful candidate will work independently and with other software engineers to achieve day to day objectives that impact operational results and/or project deliverables.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation.
The candidate must have a good academic understanding and/or exposure to software engineering practices to contribute to and/or assist with software maintenance, system architecture, and system concept development
Candidates must be enrolled in a degree program in a relevant discipline.
Excellent written/verbal skills with the ability to interpret and author well-formed documents.
Candidate must be able to obtain a Public Trust from the FAA to perform on our programs.
High school education or equivalent and 1+ years of related experience.
US Citizenship is required.
