The Defense Group at Leidos is seeking an Information Technology SQL Database Administrator to be part of a team of highly motivated professionals in Norfolk, VA. A successful candidate will analyze database requirements of assigned projects. Analyze and determine information needs and elements, database relationships and attributes, proposed manipulation, data flow and storage requirements, and data output and reporting capabilities.
•Provides highly technical expertise in use and maintenance of Microsoft SQL databases.
•Must have an excellent knowledge of SQL database and server administration.
•Evaluates and recommends available database products to support validated customer requirements.
•Develops file organizational structure, indexing methods, and security procedures.
•Demonstrates the understanding of processes to maintain high security profiles on servers via installation of operating system patches and DOD security vulnerability patches.
•Apply knowledge of database management systems to coordinate maintenance and changes to databases.
•Test and implement changes or new database designs.
•Write logical and physical database descriptions, including location, space, access method, and security requirements.
•Demonstrate the ability to apply DOD STIG implementation
This position will require:
•Shift Schedule will be day shift Monday-thru-Friday with the occasional Wednesday & Saturday Maintenance Window coverage that is rotated throughout the Server Ops Team
•Requires BS and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience.
•DOD 8570.01m IAT Level II certification
•Current MS SQL Server operating system certification
•ACTIVE FINAL SECRET DOD CLEARANCE
•Knowledge and experience working with PowerShell scripts
•Knowledge and experience working with VMware VCenter Server and Server Virtualization
