Business Analysts

Job Description:

Leidos is looking for candidates for potential openings for multiple Business Analysts to support contracts with the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Administration (VHA).

The Business Analyst will be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision, but also be a strong team player and work in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. The position will require analytical problem-solving skills. The candidate will have knowledge of software development and testing, risk mitigation, and Agile methodology.

The candidate will evaluate and document software requirements, provide support to software teams in the creation and implementation of requirements. The candidate may assist with software update and release documentation or release notes, will be adept at tracking action items, will be able to assist with testing data including developing test scripts and reviewing test cases. The Business Analyst will be able to support User Acceptance Testing and assist with developing training/user guides. The candidate will be able to formulate and define complex information systems scope and objectives through research, analysis, testing, and fact-finding combined with a basic understanding of business systems and industry requirements.  Will analyze user needs and document requirements by preparing detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Will identify problem areas and recommend revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary. Will prepare documentation and reports to define processing functions required.

The Business Systems Analyst will work with a dynamic and diverse team of management personnel, technical and engineering personnel, non-technical staff, and multiple customers. Requires excellent communication skills customers, team members, and technical staff. Must be able to keep all stakeholders informed, prioritize tasks, and have the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.  Candidate may be required to create/update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) outlining how processes are followed.. Candidate will facilitate, participate, and contribute in various project meetings, providing subject matter expert (SME) analysis. Candidate must have a calm and poised ability to resolve/troubleshoot incidents and problems.  The motivated candidate will require a high level of problem solving skills and be able to complete tasks independently.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in related field with 2+ years IT related experience; OR an Master’s degree (<1 years IT related experience is acceptable).
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
  • Experience with process analysis and improvement.
  • Experience with collection of business requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification.
  • IBM Rational Tools experience.
  • CA Rally Tool experience.
  • Current Public Trust Clearance, with ability to obtain a higher level clearance.
  • MS Office Applications proficiency.
