Procurement Assistant

Job Description:

The Defense Group’s High Resolution ISR Systems Division has an opening for a Procurement Assistant with strong organizational skills in our Alexandria, Virginia office.  The candidate will support the Division’s Purchasing Team Lead.  The successful candidate will work closely with the purchasing and logistics teams.  This is an entry level position and on-the-job mentoring will be provided. 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Communicates with program personnel to explain procurement processes and procedures and assists in the resolution of problems
  • Creating purchase requests from submitted questionnaires
  • Printing all accompanying documentation
  • Performing data entries in Costpoint, NONPO and other systems

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma and 2-4 years of experience or Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of experience
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • A working knowledge of government property acquisition and accountability requirements
