Leidos' Bio-Behavioral Research Group is looking for a full time Research Scientist to support the Viral and Rickettsial Diseases Department at the Naval Medical Research Center in Silver Srpings, MD *This is position is contingent upon contract being awarded to Leidos*
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Assist with the design and conduct of research projects to develop Clinical Laboratory Improvement Program (CLIP) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) certified laboratory assays to diagnose infectious diseases.
Assist with the design and conduct of research projects to evaluate assays to identify host, pathogen, and vector biomarkers (antigen, antibody, and DNA/RNA) to prevent, reduce, treat, and ameliorate the impact of infectious diseases.
Participate in technically integrated product teams for prophylactic, diagnostic, therapeutic, and surveillance products and procedures with NMRC and collaborating scientists.
Assist with the design and conduct of disease detection and surveillance projects to support epidemiology and biosurveillance research for infectious diseases of military significance.
Assist the Government in recording new requisitions in the Fund Administration and Standardized Document Automation (FASTDATA) system for requirements that do not affect the subject task order. All new requisitions shall be initiated and approved by a Government employee.
Serve as SMEs for reach-back problems and serve as an SME capable of trouble shooting laboratory experiments, equipment and assays (within the above associated mission areas).
Assist with the design and conduct of human clinic trials to evaluate prophylactic, diagnostic, therapeutic, and surveillance products for infectious diseases of military significance.
- PHD in related field
- Masters degree with 2+ years of related research experience
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain Secret government clearance.
