Job Description:

The Government Health and Safety solutions operation of Leidos is seeking a Java developer in Baltimore, MD.

The Java Developer shall have extensive experience in developing and maintaining the high-performing Java applications. The candidate will analyze and manipulate PDF format documents. Has prime accountability for major projects and will develop detailed and robust design, code, test, and implement proposed systems. Ability to develop technical solutions, and document the solution architecture and design using standard design tools. The candidate will demonstrate design experience and be willing to challenge other team member’s designs as well as receive and incorporate feedback. The candidate will be responsible for creating maintainable, adaptable, scalable, defect-free code using software development best practices and coding standards (i.e. software reuse, refactoring, continuous integration, test automation, secure development, Test Driven Development, static code analysis, peer/code review). The candidate will perform self-starting activities following best practices. The candidate will communicate both verbally and through written communications to present ideas and concepts effectively.

Key Terms: Java/JEE, Spring, RESTful/SOAP, Flux, Redux, manipulate PDF documents, automated testing

Skills Required:

Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of experience

  • Expert Java developer with expertise in Java/JEE technologies and Spring on high volume web applications.
  • Understanding of JEE and Spring security.
  • Experience building RESTful/SOAP web services.
  • Experience and understanding of a javascript framework such as React or Angular on a complex browser based application
  • Experience with javascript state management such as Flux or Redux
  • Ability to analyze and manipulate PDF format documents.
  • Automated testing of browser based applications (ie Selenium) and testing of RESTful web applications.

Requires ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Skills Desired:

  • Experience with development tools such as Rational Application Developer and Maven.
  • Experience with version control software such as MKS and Git/Bitbucket.
  • Experience with cloud deployments.
  • Java Swing knowledge.
  • Experience with Enterprise Content Management (ECM).
