Leidos is seeking a hardworking Systems Engineer, acting as the Product Manager/Owner (PO) within a software development Agile Release Train (ART) on a federal government contract.

This position will have content authority over the program backlog for their ART. The PO will own Feature and Product Backlog definitions and associated definitions and story pointing. The PO will work in concert with our program’s customer to define/refine software requirements, estimate and size feature delivery and coordinate and manage release content in concert with customer priorities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience as Agile Release Train Engineer, Agile Scrum Master or Agile Product Owner
  • Candidate must have the ability to work in a team environment within various functional areas such as software development, IT system administration, test and network engineering.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related discipline or equivalent experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 4-8 years of experience leading Agile development teams with demonstrated PO/Scrum Master roles
  • Experience as Agile Release Train Engineer, Agile Scrum Master or Agile Product Owner
  • Candidate must have the ability to work in a team environment within various functional areas such as software development, IT system administration, test and network engineering.
  • Experience implementing best development practices and standards, and mentoring/teaching junior practitioners
  • Experience supporting the entire life cycle and facilitate software product releases
  • Ability to think independently and contribute to the overall effort without much direction
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently to develop creative solutions
  • Comfortable working across business and IT domains, and possess the ability to shift between technical analysis and business value discussions
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Strong Interpersonal skills

Clearance/Citizenship

  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous technical leadership experience on software development project(s)
  • Understanding of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology and processes
  • SAFe certification(s)
  • Familiarity with planning and scheduling tools and techniques and software development processes are highly desired skills for the job.
  • Expertise in transforming and building end-to-end environments using DevOps to integrate, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and operate multiple systems
  • -Extensive experience leading teams in an Agile environment, identifying and converting requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria, and effectively communicating between project teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders
  • Willingness to keep program abreast of trends in the GIS, software development, defense/ intelligence industries, and competing products and vendors
  • Software development tools: GitLab, Confluence
