The Defense Group at Leidos has a dynamic job opportunity for a Configuration Management Specialist located in Manassas, VA. In this role you will support multiple Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (AISR) programs. As the Configuration Management Specialist, you will perform release management, change management, and configuration management activities. As a part of a multi-company team, you will participate in Engineering Review Boards, document processes, perform audits, and integrate with subcontractors and the customer. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and updating CM tools and access controls on our collaboration sites.
Telecommuters within reasonable driving distance to the Manassas, VA location will be considered.
•Lead change management activities by routing problem reports, change requests, and change notifications
•Review and release various configuration items, including documents and drawings
•Lead PCAs/FCAs (Physical Configuration Audits, and Functional Configuration Audits)
-Audit aircraft modifications/installations against baseline configuration reports and drawings
-Audit mission systems hardware and software against baseline RMF/DIACAP artifacts
•Lead technical review boards and configuration control boards
•Develop configuration identification schema
•Develop documentation to include: user guides, technical documentation, and administration manuals for CM/DM sites and tools
•Train personnel on change management, document routing, and configuration management processes
•Train personnel on CM/DM sites and tools
•Cultivate formal understanding of document control and configuration management practices
•Ensure program documentation is processed through the formal release and change processes
•Provide drawing and documentation checking/proofing
•Build/Maintain/Troubleshoot lists, libraries, automation features, and associated databases of program data on SharePoint
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
•Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2+ years of prior relevant experience; additional years of experience required in lieu of a degree.
•Excellent communications skills; written and oral, to interface with customers and peers, and embody a take-charge attitude.
•Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
•Strong Working Knowledge of SharePoint Collaboration Tools
-•Extensive knowledge of Configuration Management processes
-Working knowledge of standard DoD Configuration Management Standards: MIL-HDBK-61A and/or EIA-649-B
•Excellent organizational skills
•10% CONUS Travel Required
-A DoD clearance is NOT required to start; a final DoD Top Secret is required
Desired skills that are not required, but would be nice to have
•Knowledgeable on aircraft systems
•Familiarity with AS9100 requirements
