Job Description:

Leidos is seeking a Configuration Management (CM) Specialist to partner on a large enterprise IT contract for the DOD. This role is responsible for CM of operational systems. Works on operational teams to create and maintain configuration baselines (development, test, production, etc.) supporting operational systems. Uses or recommends automated CM tools to implement CM policies and procedures. Develops or modifies CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the operational system. Implement CM discipline for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirements/capabilities baselines to system end-of-life. Perform change control and configuration audits.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Follow industry recognized best practices for program management, change management, and configuration control processes to ensure highest quality deliverables and infrastructure performance.
  • Develop version control processes, policies, and procedures and ensure they are followed.  
  • Conduct CM design, workflows, documents and processes.
  • Use configuration management tools to store, track, and manage configuration items and the CM environment.
  • Serve as an advisor on and ensure change documentation is completed on automation; and interconnection of systems and tools with automated workflows.
  • Lead to operational efficiencies, reduce manpower, lower cost, and ensure a smooth, secure transition of new, upgraded, or redesigned systems.
  • Maintain multiple systems while driving toward a standardized baseline across all operation systems.
  • Examine customer problems, develop and present solutions, and then implements appropriate corrective action to initiate a change.
  • Ensure that baseline integrity management can be established within the enterprise.
  • Support the development and adherence to procedures and policies.
  • Work independently.
  • Provide basic mentorship to junior team members

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Higher level knowledge of configuration management best practices.
  • Experience providing configuration management on multiple systems and domains.
  • Experience developing, establishing and implementing CM goals and plans that meet project objectives.
  • Experience reviewing and documenting configuration management activities for a client.
  • Experience interfacing with senior management and negotiating with clients on requirements and deliverables.
  • Experience supervising others. Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP).

  • Must have an active TS/SCI with a polygraph in order to be considered for this position.
