Leidos has an opening for a Senior Solution Architect located at Scott AFB or Ft. Meade, MD.
The Senior Solution Architect (SA) will support the DISA customer as part of the Global Systems Management Operations (GSM-O) program and report to the Program Chief Architect. This candidate will work closely with the Chief Architect, engineering leads, and customer stakeholders to drive current and future program results that drive efficiency within the program and improve service delivery to the customer. The solution architect will engage with all technical teams on the program, establish logical and physical architectures, lead technical designs, determine priorities, scope additional work, collect and report status, review/approve changes, and ensure tasks are completed on time within the environment and travel to other GSM-O sites when necessary.
•Lead solution development of a COTS-Based operations support system platform, responsible for the architecture and design, and accountable for creating and implementing innovative technical solutions for the GSM-O program.
•Establish GSMO roadmaps, best practices, lessons learned, and technological approaches for modernization capabilities including WAN, Cloud, Software Defined Networking (SDN), Micro-segmentation, Zero Trust Networking, and other modern technologies
•Recruits and mentors engineering staff and builds the technical workforce to meet GSM-O program objectives.
•Work with the customer and external stakeholders (industry leaders, vendors, military, etc.) to accomplish program goals in which we are dependent on them completing tasks. This would include the issues, risks, dependencies, and making sure action plans are documented and executed accordingly.
•Perform Analysis of Alternatives, and perform trade studies behind solution components and identify engineering risks, and costs to identify efficiencies and improved ways of delivering service to the customer.
•Build strong professional working relationships with stakeholders to resolve disputes, define technical solutions, and drive positive change within the program.
•Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost/risk, and supportability effectiveness analyzes for systems across the DISN and GSM-O.
•Support the GSMO Chief Architect in innovation planning, analytical research, architecture, and design development assignments across GSMO
• Some travel (< 25%) may be required.
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 20+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 16+ years or prior relevant experience.
•Strong Technical breadth and depth in support of the government markets and in particular in government network design, implementation, operations, and modernization.
•Experienced professional in contract performance with demonstrated technical lead and customer relationship building in the performance and growth of contracts. Capable of generating on-contract-growth through insertion of innovation and technology on existing programs.
•Industry relationships with leading capabilities providers to enhance our solutions offerings and close gaps in offerings yielding competitive technical solutions.
•Experienced senior solution architect that understands competitor/teammate technology offerings and can negotiate and influence others to understand and accept new concepts, practices and approaches has worked successful partnerships with suppliers on programs.
•Ability to assess, identify, recruit and retain talent to grow technical expertise on current programs and build talent for future program proposals and execution in a large organization. Person must be able to work in collaboration across the corporation and with other internal CTOs leveraging contacts to obtain in-house skills when available and provide rotational opportunities for key technical resources to continue technology exchange and enhancements.
•Experience identifying and assessing business impacts to proposed changes to a largely technical solution or enterprise operations.
•No initial clearance required, but must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
•Possesses active DoD Secret security clearance.
•Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
•Possess DoD 8570 certification at IAT level II, CISSP, Security+ CE.
•Certifications such as but not limited to, Cisco Certifications (CCIE, CCNP, etc.), Juniper Certifications, Microsoft certifications (MCSE, etc.), security.
•Experience managing large teams of engineers to implement, manage and monitor integrated systems.
