Job Description:

Leidos's Military & Veterans Health Solutions Operations has an opening for a Senior System Administrator in Austin, TX. This role is contingent upon award.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of systems, including associated hardware. Requires monitoring and updating current and new systems, implementing critical system patches, responding to incidents, scheduling O&M activities and coordination of all customer related issues. The position requires excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. The candidate must be able to work in a high energy environment and adapt to shifting priorities. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure, closed networks for sandboxed development and testing.
  • Provide problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of system issues.
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Work with customers to collect information about problems and lead customers through diagnostic procedures to determine the source issue.
  • Troubleshoot to determine problems for operating systems, applications, network, or mobile issues.
  • Actively manage incident tickets and provide status updates on each ticket per SLA.
  • Review tickets daily and reprioritize as needed to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Ability to craft technical and professionally written outage notifications and system updates.
  • Provide system and application diagnoses to remediate issues while engaging other teams as needed
  • Conduct continuous improvement service support and update knowledge base as required
  • Work with development and test teams to manage network needs and requirements
  • Oversees administration of the platforms (production and non-production).

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific /technical discipline, plus 5 yrs experience.  8 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Service Now CSA 
  • US Citizen or Green Card holder per the contract requirements
  • Demonstrate applied knowledge of platform system administration concepts.
  • ITSM products (i.e. ServiceNow) management.
  •  Application support experience using ServiceNow or other ticketing and incident management systems.
  •  Familiarity and practical application of advanced principles of ITIL/ITSM.
  •  Excellent written and communication skills required; excellent customer service aptitude.
  •  Ability to present to executive management system debriefs and root cause analysis reports.
  •  Experience managing Microsoft Windows, LINUX, iOS and Android domain environments.
  •  Day-to-day fluency using Microsoft Active Directory to manage policies & user objects.
  •  Experience troubleshooting, administering and using Microsoft Windows and LINUX.
  •  Knowledge of security policies and general vulnerabilities management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possess and maintain one of the following certifications: MTA-IT, A +, Network +, or Security +.
