Leidos is seeking a talented Software Engineer Intern, located in our Arlington, VA office.
The candidate must be competent in Python and have the ability to read code in other programming languages like Java and C++. The candidate will work on projects to create software prototypes to perform data analytics, machine learning, and automated information extraction along with some user interfaces design for the prototype applications. The candidate must be able to understand linear algebra, discreet mathematics, and probability and statistics related to homomorphic encryption. Additionally, the candidate must be intellectually adaptive, inquisitive, good at expressing their needs, and able to be self-reliant. The candidate will work alongside engineers and scientist engineers and homomorphic encryption data scientist with expertise. Initially, the work will be co-sponsored by Leidos and Intel Corporation. However, eventually the work will be used to help the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community.
Education and Experience:
-Must currently be pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or related field
-Familiar with machine-learning, text-mining or natural language processing concepts
-Experience with Python, Java, C++
-Communicative with the ability to state their needs and be an active member of a team
-Self-motivated and self-starter
-Must have the ability of obtaining a DoD Security Clearance, U.S. Citizenship required
-Hands-on experience with prototype development
-Hands-on experience with automating data cleansing, formatting, staging, and transforming data human
-Hands-on experience applying data analytics
-Hands-on experience with intelligent systems and machine learning
