Job Description:

Leidos is looking for an Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our New York team. This position will be either part-time or full-time, depending on contract requirements. Responsibilities include triaging complaints, closing or referring non-jurisdictional/simple cases to support staff, referring jurisdictional/complex cases to management for assignment.  Also gathers, collects, records, tracks and verifies data and information from multiple sources.  He/she compiles, reviews and analyzes data. Uses software for functional area to compile and generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, correspondence and presentations. Gathers and manipulates common data, verifies adequacy and appropriateness, develops charts, diagrams and standard reports.
 
Duties also include all front desk functions, including but not limited to scanning, answering phones, receiving visitors, accepting and logging incoming mail, managing voicemail, managing Regional e-mail box.  Fields a wide variety of calls from members of the public, regional staff and headquarters staff. Demonstrates sound judgment and represents the organization with tact and discretion. Independently responds to inquiries and, as necessary, refers callers to appropriate staff. Demonstrates excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Maintains correspondence and case file and administrative file systems. Ensures timely and complete responses to controlled correspondence.
 
- Three years of clerical document experience.
- Familiarity with office and network environments.
- Familiarity with data processing environments, database technology and imaging technology.
 
Typical minimums: High School diploma with additional specialized training in specific aspects of job functions and/or demonstrated ability to perform specified tasks.
