Leidos has a career opportunity for an Instructional Media Designer (IMD) at Hurlburt Field, Florida. Candidates must possess a TS/SCI security clearance in order to be considered.
Duties: The IMD contractors shall support design, development, and production of computerized and classroom courseware. IMD’s shall use creative skills in art and design to communicate a story, message or idea in support of instructional content delivery. Assist with the interpretation of instructional visual aids needs. Create, review and edit visual/audio materials visual aids to inform, persuade and engage target audiences, and shall adjust mood and style of visual aids accordingly for the best teaching and learning outcomes. Analyze and interpret data that will be presented on Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and cutting-edge interactive media technologies for training and education. IMD’s shall work within a small multi-disciplinary course production team to create traditional courseware and/or transform traditional courseware into online formats in innovative and compelling ways that are of equal or greater effectiveness than F2F implementation of equivalent content. IMD’s specialize in design mediums, such as analog/digital drawing, photography, animation and/or digital audio in support of instructional content. IMD duties include the following: prepares work-flow maps, plans concept illustration by studying learning content information and materials, illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts, facilitates consensus agreement among instructional design team (IDT) regarding concept illustrations by submitting rough-draft layouts, prepares finished copy and art illustrations to support instruction. Ensures continued operation of IMD tools by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment. Ensures proper disposition of visual information record material, performs multimedia editorial functions; identify/reduce material to individual scenes or sequences, assemble the product in proper order. IMD’s shall produce geometric representations, orthographic and isometric drawings, auxiliaries (normal and edge views) and conventional drawings to ensure graphical products are delivered usable format to enable CBT, F2F, and interactive instruction. Edit, assemble, and synchronize recorded sound with imagery, integrating special effects. Set up, position, synchronize, and operate various types of cameras, projectors, video and audio recorder-reproducers equipment. IMD’s shall monitor, digital interface, computers, and other multimedia equipment. IMD’s shall maintain an indexed instructional media library/repository. For video productions, IMDs shall design, coordinate, direct, shoot 3D video and edit educational, and training video material/content delivered via the Web, cable TV, DVD, and portable devices. IMDs shall contribute to IDT team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed and oversee all aspects of educational and training video pre-production, production, and post-production projects.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of related experience. Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. A minimum of eight (8) semester hours in multimedia design and development. Knowledge of multimedia development tools and production formats. IMDs shall maintain technical knowledge by attending design workshops; routine study and review of professional publications; participating in professional societies at no cost to the government. Demonstrate significant knowledge of various multimedia styles and formats, demonstrating knowledge and skills in scanning images and change format, size, colors and other elements, demonstrating knowledge and skills in multimedia, production and documentation, still photography, electronic imaging, imagery and digital audio IAW PWS para 1.8.3. TS/SCI security clearance required.
Experience in Direct Support Operator (DSO) and Tactical Systems Operator (TSO) operations preferred.
