The Leidos Civil NISC III program has an opening for an Engineering Planner in Oklahoma City, OK. The Engineering Planner will provide support to various Air Traffic Control Centers, TRACONS, Towers, and ATS Headquarters and Regional offices. Support consists of development of site implementation and transition planning for National and Regional, Facilities and Equipment, Capital Investment Plan projects. Support and assist in identifying, analyzing, coordinating, resolving, and reporting the resolution of implementation issues generated by such projects. Specifically, the contractor shall provide Air Traffic Control expertise to the FAA Academy Air Traffic Division (AMA-500) for the development, implementation and execution of air traffic training program requirements. Provide expertise in conducting research evaluations and studies required to update and maintain the Air Traffic Division Training System Support Plan (ATDTSSP), AMA-500 Operations Plan (OPSPLAN) and assist with strategic planning for NAS facilities and equipment. These plans will include recommendations and goals and objectives necessary to accomplish the required Air Traffic training during the NAS modernization.

The position requires a Bachelors degree in a related field and a minimum of ten years experience as a certified full-performance level Air Traffic Controller (ATC) in either a civilian or military environment. Minimum ten years experience in an operational environment such as an Enroute Air Traffic Control facility, a terminal (TRACON/Tower), or a Flight Service Station (FSS). In certain situations, it may be necessary for task orders to require operational currency for the ATC Specialist(s) being requested due to the nature of the work effort. In those cases operational currency for the senior level ATC Specialist is defined as having actually controlled aircraft within the past five (5) years prior to accepting employment under NISC-II, unless otherwise defined within the individual task order that calls for operational currency. Individual task orders issued will clearly identify those situations where operational currency will be required.
