The Leidos Defense group currently has an immediate career opportunity for a Systems Integration Engineer to work in our San Antonio, Texas location.

This position applies technical knowledge to the design and configuration of an Oracle Cloud HCM environment for the Department of Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) to meet the customer’s requirements and system needs to transition from on-premise solutions to cloud-based solutions.
This opportunity will allow a candidate to use their experiences and creative design skills to develop an architecture that leverages software and infrastructure as a service.
As an integration engineer, the candidate would bring their organizational skills and “big picture” vision to the table to orchestrate and execute the multiple parallel activities to help the DCPDS program meet its objectives with a state of the art cloud-enabled HR system.

Primary Responsibilities:
Applies business and technical analysis skills to the federal HR specification needs.
Responsibilities include active engagement to research, review, analyze, solicit, decompose, and document enterprise level solutions to enable a cloud-based environment and solutions.
Candidate will design and enable solutions that provide faster delivery to our business users; continually seek ways to optimize and improve operational aspects of our IT solutions.
He/she will work with a team of like-minded engineers to design, develop, and implement cutting edge solutions for the DCPDS program.
 
Candidate will also work:
Migrating the legacy applications to new technologies.
Document design approaches along with the integration points and risk mitigation activities to ensure cohesive inter-operable enterprise set of solutions.
Conducts validation and verification of DCPDS software applications and reports and tracks findings during this process.
Performs systems integration of solutions, to include web services and Service-Oriented Architectures (SOAs) between SaaS cloud and OCI Applications.
Actively participate in our continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) agile practices across the team.
Troubleshoots the operation of components and resolves existing or potential issues to ensure optimum operation of the environment.
Coordinates and ensures security compliance of the integration and test infrastructure using DoD security analysis techniques including the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management process and applying appropriate Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS) for relevant components.
Participate in vendor software evaluations and integration strategies.
Conducts analysis and technology maturity assessments of emerging technologies through application review and proof of concepts. Understands and can provide insight on system and application stability through the analysis of recorded system utilization and expected application system and data flow.
Provides continuous monitoring of integration and test infrastructure components by leveraging applicable tools and ensuring data is readily available within program’s continuous monitoring dashboards.
Regularly engages the DCPDS management, program departments (such as development, cyber, and ops teams), and customers, applicable.
Identify and implement automation strategies.
Implement automation strategies in the software development life cycle (SDLC) process  technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution.
The integration engineer will play a key role in the organization by taking the lead on complex areas within the projects and working with the customer and other program departments to define/document technical requirements, decompose into thorough design specifications and plan for integration into the program baseline.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and 4-8 years relevant experience or additional relevant experience in lieu of degree or Masters degree and 2-6 years relevant experience.
Must be able to obtain a position of Public Trust to be adjudicated to the DCPDS program.
Must be US Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of software release and configuration management processes and tools.
Understanding of agile methodologies and principles.
Already has Public Trust for DoD program.
