Job Description:

The Leidos Corporate Office of Technology has an opening for a Group Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Intelligence Group, located in Reston, VA.

Our Intelligence capabilities span the enormous breadth of technology and mission needs of our Intelligence customers, from integrating novel solutions into current operations to leveraging big data architectures and analytics that enable users to provide critical decision support at revolutionary speed. With expertise in cloud-enabled automation and augmentation, a long heritage in sensors and sensor exploitation, and a team adept at harnessing machine learning, we’re applying powerful analytic tools for superior performance despite a staggering breadth of data. We’re focused on ensuring our intelligence customers have the right tools, technologies, and tactics to keep pace with an ever-evolving threat landscape and succeed in their mission to protect people and critical assets around the world. Primary customers include agencies within the US Intelligence Community.

The Group CTO creates, communicates, and markets the Group's technical and scientific vision, consistent with the strategic vision of the corporation. He/she is responsible for overall technical execution to include driving technically-differentiated solutions for priority captures, internal research and development (IR&D) projects, and technical performance on major programs. He/she is a key member of the team that develops and implements the technology strategy for the entire corporation. Day-to-day activities range from managing technical staff to making strategic recommendations on how to allocate resources to doing public speaking to communicate the Leidos and Group technology vision and capabilities. His/her decisions help drive the long-term success, failure, profitability, and growth of the Group. The Group CTO also creates, communicates, and implements the technical element of the Group’s Human Capital Strategy.

The Group CTO partners closely with executive management to ensure the Group’s technology strategy and day-to-day implementation is aligned with the Group’s strategic plan and daily needs, and consults with business leadership on potential solutions to problems. He/she meets with current and potential customers to demonstrate the company's credentials at solving problems with technically-differentiated and technically-sound solutions. He/she seeks partnerships with strategic suppliers, renowned universities, and research institutions to increase learning opportunities, sponsors research projects that increase differentiation of solutions, and harvests external technologies to ensure Leidos differentiation.  He/she identifies external technical talent, manages a team, provides supervision, develops mid to senior level technical staff, and promotes a dynamic, highly-motivated, and inclusive work environment. Finally, he/she has a strong understanding of the Leidos Technical Core Competencies and a demonstrated ability to collaborate and pull-thru capabilities and resources to support program execution and enable strategic growth.

•15-20 years of related industry experience
•Prior technical roles within similar organizations with growing duties and responsibilities
•Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred in a Science, Engineering, or Technology field
•Excellent technical credentials in fields relevant to the Intelligence Group business (e.g. digital modernization, cyber, software development, AI/ML, information exploitation)
•Experience with policy formation, performance management, and best practices in industry
•Knowledge of, and experience with, a large fraction of the Leidos Intelligence Group customer base
•Strong oral and written communication skills
•Strong public speaking skills
•Ability to influence and persuade others, as well as handle difficult negotiations
•Ability to identify, mentor, lead, manage, and promote talent
•TS/SCI clearance
