Leidos makes the world safer, healthier and more efficient through information technology, engineering and science. Leidos is a $10bn+ company, operating in 4 core market areas: Defence, Intelligence, Civil and Health. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, Leidos is focusing on international growth ambitions, beyond the USA, in UK and Australia.
Leidos UK operates as a country focused business, operating today in the Defence and Civil market sectors. Comprising c. 1,000 staff it operates in 3 Divisions: Civil, Logistics and Defence. The Logistics Division is focused on our marquee LCS(T) contract with the MoD while the Civil Division provides a range of IT services in long term relationships with critical national infrastructure clients such as NATS, Ministry of Justice, Home Office, Metropolitan Police and the Scottish Government.
The Leidos UK Defence Division has been created in order to significantly grow Leidos’ position in the UK Defence sector separate to its significant MoD Logistics contract. Our vision is to become a lead enabler of information-led warfighting for the MoD, and allied organisations, through IT and engineering services delivered with detailed domain expertise. Initial focus areas are C4ISR, MoD ISS, MoD SP & CBRN.
We aim to double in size by 2025 while sustaining strong operating margins by offering cutting-edge mission-enabling IT, science and engineering services into the MoD and allied organisations unencumbered by broader platform and product positions, leveraging our UK capability supplemented with US pull-through to deliver collaborative customer relationships supporting our client’s core mission.
Our areas of capability expertise include system integration, infrastructure, cloud, service management, application integration and development delivered within domain insight into services and solutions for Defence Intelligence, tactical data link users and army tactical information systems.
To support our growth we are seeking to appoint talented new individuals to strengthen the Divisional team, stimulate new customer demand and grow our capability, capacity and maturity as we fulfil our growth agenda.
Reporting to the Divisional MD, the Portfolio lead will be responsible for our Tactical Data Link (TDL) business line. This is a rounded general management role responsible for a niche Defence-sector software product business line.
Working in collaboration with the existing team of experienced TDL specialists, the Portfolio Lead will ensure the successful delivery of the TDL annual plan including marketing, sales (direct and via channel), software product delivery, associated service delivery (consulting and software support) and product roadmap development. The portfolio manager will be responsible for updating the business’ strategy to ensure enduring profitable growth.
The portfolio lead will ensure their assigned team members are performance managed, well utilised and able to execute successfully on their assigned tasks, triggering recruitment, retention, training and transfer actions to manage capacity and skill base as appropriate.
The TDL portfolio delivers engineering tools to integrators of solutions incorporating Link-11, 16, 22, JREAP-C and VMF TDLs, including eSMART, MANDRIL, PUMA and CIVET. Small to medium sized business leadership experience of a software product based business is required.
Current product and service activities are delivered from our Lincoln office and our secure Farnborough facility. Frequent presence at Lincoln, Farnborough and occasional international travel to applicable customer locations will be required.
