Job Description:

The job of the Maintenance Manager is to be responsible for overseeing all program aircraft maintenance through established DCMA 8210.1C, IS-BAO, FAR PART 91/145 and industry standard compliant policy and procedures.  Located CONUS / Multiple Locations / Possible Deployment if Needed.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Establish comprehensive aircraft maintenance procedures covering DCMA 8210.1C, IS-BAO and FAR PART 91/145.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate and timely aircraft maintenance reporting system.
  • Oversee the recruitment, selection, discipline and training of personnel
  • Maintains appropriate liaison with suppliers/vendors, local state and federal oversight agencies and purchases of services
  • Develops and implements both internal and sub-contractor training programs to communicate current information and procedures to employees and evaluates training programs to determine their effectiveness.
  • Maintains appropriate liaison with suppliers/vendors, local state and federal oversight agencies and purchases of services
  • Provides guidance to subordinate employees and peers when appropriate, collaborating and cooperating with other members of the management team
  • Support the performance appraisal systems for maintenance employees by completing timely and accurate evaluations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS or BA) from an accredited college or university in Aviation Maintenance and five (5) of experience.  Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A&P license is required.
  • Knowledge of the following is required:
    • Generally accepted accounting principles sufficient to perform the job, duties, and tasks associated with the position
    • Databases sufficient to perform the job, duties, and tasks associated with the position
    • Aircraft sheet metal repair
    • Component repair
    • Instrument, electronic and electrical test equipment
    • Military or commercial aviation maintenance
    • U.S. Government regulations for federal contractors and FAA Maintenance programs
    • Aircraft maintenance terminology
  • Interpret drawings, specifications and schematics of aircraft instrument/electronic components
  • Recognize from schematics and drawings not only how one assembly functions but also how various assemblies interact with each other.
  • Involvement in US Military Programs and or Operations
  • Obtain a passport, visa, and Department of Defense security clearance
  • Must have a Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
  • Create, enter, retrieve and print from software packages such as; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Project

Preferred Qualifications

  • DHC-8 / DHC-8-315 Experience as an aircraft maintenance manager
  • Experience providing maintenance on Airborne ISR Program
  • Demonstrates ability and understanding to support OCONUS Maintenance Operations
  • Current TS/SCI clearance
  • Current FAA IA (Inspection Authorization)
