The Advanced Solutions Group (ASG) at Leidos currently has an opening for a System Engineer to work at our customer site on Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. We are seeking a dedicated, talented and experienced System Engineer to work as part of a leading-edge research and engineering, design and development team. The System Engineer will contribute to the Warfighter Program supporting AFRL/RHA. The Warfighter program provides the Air Force with a wide range of research into advanced technologies to improve training effectiveness among a multitude of operationally-relevant platforms and roles.
You will work as part of a team to ensure maximum performance of full spectrum of systems engineering activities including Concept of Operations development, requirements definition and analysis, system analysis and design, system integration, test planning and execution, and overall program execution under the direction of the Chief Engineer. This is a highly dynamic lab environment, so on a daily basis, your responsibilities will change. Your primary responsibilities will be to develop and integrate training systems solutions supporting the Air Force customer desired research goals. Emphasis of systems development includes military Command and Control, Unmanned Aerial and Terminal Attack Control/Direction systems and their interfaces in distributed systems environment. You will also prepare documentation such as system specifications, interface control documents, system engineering plans, certification and accreditation documents, system and test plans and reports, operating instructions, and technical manuals.
The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment with government customers, software engineers, subject matter experts, and military personnel in order to understand requirements and develop innovative solutions.
- Have a BS and 8-12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered. Degree in a technical field preferred (electrical, mechanical, systems, or computer information systems engineering preferred)
- General Knowledge and experience with DODAF and system architecting with experience in systems engineering supporting training systems development, integration, and test procedures
- Proven ability to support planning, administration, management integration, and assessment of project standard military RMF/IA processes and activities
- Working knowledge of Windows 7, 10, Server 2012R2-2016, and LINUX administration, and experience/ability to maintain and troubleshoot WAN/LAN network topologies
-Ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team
-Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
- Strong communications skills and ability to interact with external vendors and customers
- Desire to work with others in a research environment
- US Citizenship required
- Possess an active DOD Top Secret Security Clearance
-Knowledge and experience with military distributed training systems, and working knowledge of military simulator network protocols (DIS and/or HLA)
-Working knowledge of military Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) concepts, to include high-level familiarity with tactical datalinks (such as Link16 and SADL)
-Familiarity with military force-generation and visualization software, such as MACE or VRSG
-Experience in Certification and Accreditation of DoD computer networks and systems.

-Cisco network certifications, such CCNA or CCENT
