Job Description:

Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer for the Chantilly/Reston, VA areas. In support of a program for the Intelligence Community, the engineer will develop, maintain and enhance complex and diverse software systems. The engineer will support research, engineering, and development of innovative solutions to support operational cyber missions.  Work includes engineering robust infrastructure, end-point capabilities, and command and control systems. 

 Primary Responsibilities:

Development efforts, software development including: Data Architecture, Software Assurance, and Security. Conducts rapid software prototyping to demonstrate and evaluate techniques in relevant environments, conducts performance, security and other aspects of evaluating software systems, test software capabilities using novel testing and analysis techniques, document software with an emphasis on architecture, user stories and interface definitions, practice agile software development methods and actively  participate on teams of software developers, researches and assists in building and configuring computer systems and resources, interfaces with technical community and other gov’t entities to understand challenges, needs and development solutions. Contributes to improving the overall technical capabilities of the FBI’s collection mission by participating in design software and otherwise.  Sessions, developing unique capabilities and sharing insights and practices across gov’t organizations supporting the collection mission.

Basic Qualifications:

BS degree or equivalent experience

5 years of relevant experience on a large program and 3 years of Intensive software development or equivalent combination of training and experience

Performing C/C++ programming

  • Operating System and Kernel level development experience
  • Vulnerability research or software reverse engineering skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of operating system internals for Windows, iOS, Linux, and/or Android, such as process synchronization techniques (i.e., semaphores, messages, threading), process scheduling, resource and device access
  • Mobile development experience
  • active Top Secret Clearance
