Job Description:

On contract award, Leidos will have openings for 2 VTC Technicians III’s at Shaw AFB, SC. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the AFCENT Communications Technical Support Service IV mission.  In this mission we ensure communications information is available to forward deployed forces supporting Operation Resolute Support and Inherent Resolve in South West Asia (SWA) and the continuing mission requirements of the Department of Defense (DoD).

Primary Responsibilities

The candidate shall install, operate, maintain, and manage VTC systems. Support shall be performed IAW the SPIN-C and commercial standards:

a. American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/NECA/BICSI-568; Standard for Installing Commercial Building Telecommunications Cabling

b. ANSI/EIA/TIA-568-B; Commercial Building Telecommunications Cabling Standard

c. ANSI/TIA/EIA-569-A; Commercial Building Standard for Telecommunications Pathway and Spaces

d. ANSI/TIA/EIA-606(A); Administration Standard for the Telecommunications Infrastructure of Commercial Buildings

e. ANSI/TIA/EIA-607(A); Commercial Building Grounding and Bonding Requirements for Telecommunications

f. NFPA-70 National Electric Code

g. Applicable equipment system O&M standards

VTC Equipment support includes, but is not limited to, the equipment below and may include version or product updates in the individual TOs:

a. Telepresence Management Suite (TMS) Software

b. Cisco Network Enterprise Devices (VCS-Control, VCS-Expressway, Gatekeeper, Expressway Core, and Edge)

c. Cisco Multipoint Control Units/Bridges (MSE8000, Codian 45XX series, and peripherals)

d. Cisco Conference Room (CR) Codecs (All in product line to include C-Series, MX, SX, and SPARK sys-tems)

e. Cisco Desktops (All in product line to include EX series and DX systems)

f. Cisco Codian ISDN Gateways 3200 series

g. Cisco Codian IP Gateways 3500 series

h. Remedy

i. AMX, CRESTRON, EXTRON components (familiar with components of CR systems and controllers)

j. Associated cabling

k. Audio subsystems – amplifiers, mixers, speakers

l. Other A/V equipment associated with video conference room systems (i.e., Flat panel monitors, projectors)

Basic Qualifications


Must meet the certification requirement of DoD 8570.01-M, SPIN-C, or individual task order and Security +

General Experience

Associate level video teleconference experience, to include:

  • Powering up teleconferencing equipment
  • Checking equipment for proper operation
  • Setting audio levels
  • Positioning camera functions
  • Performing secure or non-secure setup
  • Operate or assist in operating session control panel, studio control unit, and high resolution graphics
  • Typically requires high school diploma or equivalent and 3 - 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Requires active Secret security clearance.

Candidate must have a valid U.S. Passport that will not expire with 7 months from hire date.
