***This position is located in Afghanistan for the CLS-Afghan Program Support***
Leidos is currently seeking a motivated Mentor Lead to work on the CLS-A program. The CLS-A program currently supports Special Mission Wing (SMW) operations. The ideal candidate will work and travel in between customer sites as needed; customer sites include Kandahar, Kabul and Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan. The Mentor Lead will will implement the CLS-A Mentoring Plan to facilitate the success of Leidos’ Mentor Program, ensuring effective mentoring is taking place and being properly documented.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Attends Production, Mentor and staff meetings as needed.
Coordinates Mentoring tasks with Production Control, Quality and the Afghan leadership.
Applies the P4T3 Methodology to all Mentoring tasks.
Leads the process of building effective Mentor Teams.
Conducts internal Mentor training to continuously improve the effectiveness of the Mentors.
Ensures that Mentors are providing effective quality mentorship IAW the Mentoring Plan.
Works closely with Afghan leaders to identify qualified Mentees and guide them on Mentee team building.
Assigns Teams to maintenance tasks based on Mentee requirements and maintenance priorities.
Monitors all on-going mentor tasks to ensure quality mentoring and appropriate mentor ratios.
Utilizes basic conflict resolution techniques when issues arise.
Acts as the bridge in communicating Mentor Program issues and provides assistance as needed.
Report all issues that affect Mentoring to Management.
Complies with all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
Assists in updating and completion of work orders and operation details; assists with on-going maintenance tasks when Mentor specific tasks are complete.
Assist in maintaining compliance in accordance with ground operating procedures (GOP) and local operating instruction (LOI).
High School Diploma
Candidate must currently possess an active NACI clearance
Minimum 5 years performing in either an aviation training or mentor role
Minimum 5 years on Fixed-Wing / Rotary platforms.
Working knowledge of U.S. Army Aviation related Maintenance forms and records, Technical Manuals, Regulations and Service Bulletins.
Familiar with FAA FARs and procedures.
Possess capabilities of basic and advance use of hand tools, Aviation Ground Support Equipment (AGSE) and precision measurement devices.
Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PP) and common computer, office and internet capabilities.
Candidate must have the ability to:
read detailed schematics, engineering drawings/ diagrams and aircraft maintenance manuals.
convey technical knowledge and experience to non-native English speakers
effectively communicate orally and in writing
create and brief detailed Mentor / Training reports
professionally interact with Management, the US Government and host nation officials at all levels.
function in a high stress, austere work environment.
mentor foreign/ local nationals (LN) and work alongside other country nationals (OCN)
As the position location is in Afghanistan, the following requirements need to be met:
Possess a valid state driver’s license
Active passport with a minimum of 12 months before expiration prior to start date.
Visa with multiple entries for 12 months prior to start date
Completion of Customer required International Readiness Certifications prior to deployment.
Failure to complete any of these actions within 60 days of accept will result in rescinding of the offer. If the candidate is unable to pass the medical screening after the start date and prior to deployment an immediate administrative termination will be requested.
