Job Description:

Leidos in Huntsville, AL has a current opening for a Lead Engineer to support Information Technology (IT) operations, sustainment and modernization.  The position will require an independent minded person who can lead a team of IT professionals in an offsite facility.  A successful candidate will be capable of executing engineering activities to include infrastructure planning, integration, development, and network testing.  The lead engineer will work in cooperation with other companies and Government resources to develop, plan, coordinate and integrate systems-related requirements to support operational needs. This position is expected to make infrastructure recommendations based on assessments of stakeholder requirements, develop and coordinate contract deliverables and reports and manage a team of up to 12 – 15 IT professionals and technicians to implement and maintain the systems. This position will support all required Cybersecurity solutions including implementation of current Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements.  Position will support Windows and Linux servers and devices in a test environment and be the focal point for all infrastructure related activity within the organization.  The position is expected to be a mix of hands-on work and management of the team.
 

Qualifications:     


A successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related discipline.         
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with leading technical teams to include implementation of the networks/systems
Demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills.
Minimum 12 years’ successful experience supporting IT technical projects

Knowledge of DOD system development, integration, installation, logistics and field support of complex systems.

General knowledge that can support designing, developing, and implementing an IT network including network integration testing, test configuration management, and data management
General knowledge of complex weapon system engineering as it related to designing,
developing, and implementing a network capable of conducting ground tests of
the BMDS

Must be able to obtain a Secret level security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with conducting ground tests of Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS)      
Experience in the MDA mission.

IT experience within the DOD and preexisting experience with Cybersecurity in a test environment.
